Resumen

LOPEZ CORDOVA, Jenny Jeanette et al. Managing the Effect of NPK fertilizers and two planting densities on corn (Zea mays L.). Rev. Inv. Cs. Agro. y Vet. [online]. 2024, vol.8, n.23, pp.439-450.  Epub 02-Mayo-2024. ISSN 2664-0902.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistaalfa.v8i23.276.

Corn, a widely consumed crop globally, is a valuable source of carbohydrates, proteins, and essential nutrients. This research focused on analyzing the impact of three doses of NPK fertilizers at two planting densities of corn (Zea mays L.) in Piura, Peru. The study was conducted using a randomized complete block design, combining three NPK doses and two planting densities, totaling 24 experimentals units. The yield, length, diameter, and weight of the cobs, as well as the harvest index, were evaluated. The results highlight that the combination of a planting density of 75 000 plants per hectare with the D3 dose of NPK fertilizer (200-80-100) achieved the highest yield of 16,399 kg/ha-1, showing significant differences compared to other combinations. These findings underscore the importance of planting density and NPK fertilizer doses in corn productivity, emphasizing the significance of these factors in optimizing agricultural yields.
