Environmental awareness is multidimensional and is made up of four defined dimensions: affective, cognitive, conative and active. The objective of this work is to analyze the scientific production on environmental awareness in solid waste treatment in PubMed in the period 2012-2023. The research was developed under an observational, retrospective design. The keywords environmental awareness and solid waste were used. The search was carried out from the biometric data analysis platform Bibliometrix () and Biblioshiny app. A total of 159 articles from 59 sources and 699 authors were found. It is concluded that there is a clear interest of the scientific community in the topic of solid waste, supported by the works published in journals indexed in the PubMed database in the decade from 2012 to 2023. However, the topic of environmental awareness related to the management of solid waste.
