Resumo

The favorable edaphoclimatic conditions for forestry are located in the central jungle, there is a process of extinction of many native forest species, of high genetic and timber value, the propagation, production and repopulation is very scarce, added to the little interest of the main actors in reversing this problem, running the risk of total disappearance of many important species for their quality. Objective. To identify at the regional level the forest species of diablo fuerte (Podocarpus sp.), walnut (Juglans neotropica) and ulcumano (Retrophyllum rospigliosii) that are in danger of extinction in the districts of Oxapampa, Villa Rica, Huancabamba, Chontabamba, high jungle sectors. Materials and methods. A descriptive and exploratory cross-sectional design was used. Field trips were programmed to identify mother trees, as well as their owners, and information was obtained from them through a questionnaire and authorization to enter their properties to select and evaluate the forest species for the study. Results. The basic characteristics of the trees found as diameter, breast height, total height, crown diameter, luminescence, carbon dioxide and oxygen concentration, stem shape, relative humidity, slope, total height, altitude, temperature, relief, branching, vigor, health and age of the tree. Conclusions. We were able to find and select 11 ecotypes of diablo fuerte mother trees, 17 ecotypes of walnut and 16 ecotypes of ulcuma.
