RODRIGUEZ, Juan Quispe; MONTANEZ, Tulio Celestino Paytan; QUEZADA, Uriel Rigoberto Quispe  y  BARRERA, Isaac Aliaga. Irrigation potential of micro-watershed water in productive areas in the Central Andes of Peru. Rev. Inv. Cs. Agro. y Vet. [online]. 2023, vol.7, n.19, pp.209-217.  Epub 28-Abr-2023. Peru is currently suffering from problems of low rainfall, droughts, and the disappearance of springs, which is a serious problem for agriculture; the lack of rain, decrease of water springs and the consequence of this is the low production of agriculture and other rural activities. The survival of the population depends on agricultural production, from the rainy season during the 12 months of the year there is demand for crops in productive areas of avocado. Therefore, the study aimed to determine the available water flow of the Luricocha River. As for the methodological processing, flow measurements were taken twice a week with "current meter" equipment upstream of the river, and were found in the months of November 2020 to October 2021. As for the results, it was obtained that the determined flows were from 0.0047 to 1.3038 m³/s; however, relating the available flow versus crop demand, there is a water deficit for the 6 months of the year, the months of production and crop harvests in -0. 08227 to -0.17845 m³/s with clear water deficiency for irrigation, the statistical analysis of water availability and the agricultural areas considered had a Pearson's R coefficient of 0.8250 and a P value = 0.006 indicating a highly significant statistical relationship. Conclusions it was possible to determine that by increasing the volume of the micro-watershed reservoir with the construction of upstream dams in order to satisfy the water demand of the crops, as well as implementing technified irrigation systems for a more efficient use of water resources.
