CHAVEZ, Charles Arturo Rosado et al. Relationship of mining production with agricultural and livestock activity in the Puno region, Peru. Rev. Inv. Cs. Agro. y Vet. [online]. 2023, vol.7, n.19, pp.193-208. Epub 28-Abr-2023. ISSN 2664-0902. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistaalfa.v7i19.209.
The Puno region has various potential mining, agricultural and livestock resources; where the extraction of minerals is carried out in an unsustainable way, affecting the environment, since the production of potatoes, quinoa and livestock of alpaca and sheep meat as part of the potential productive activities; in many cases it is affected by the environmental liabilities of the mining activity. The objective was to determine the relationship between mining activity and the production of potatoes, quinoa and livestock production of alpaca and sheep meat in the Puno-Peru region, during the period 2006-2020; considering the quantitative, non-experimental approach, with a descriptive-correlation and longitudinal design, applying the Lin-Lin econometric model. Potato production is negatively related to gold and tin production at 0.3527 and 14.33 tons per year; Quinoa production is negatively related to tin mining production at 0.711 tons per year; sheep meat production is inversely related to gold mining production at 0.00040 tons per year; and the production of alpaca meat is inversely related to tin mining production at 0.03676 tons per year. Therefore, there is an inverse relationship between the production of mining activity with agricultural and livestock production.
