SANCHEZ ARAUJO, Víctor Guillermo; PALOMINO PASTRANA, Pedro Antonio  y  MALPARTIDA YAPIAS, Rafael Julián. Efficiency of artificial wetlands of totora and berros on effluents of granja porcícola, Peru. Rev. Inv. Cs. Agro. y Vet. [online]. 2021, vol.5, n.14, pp.192-203.  Epub 31-Ago-2021. ISSN 2664-0902.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistaalfa.v5i14.110.

The investigation was carried out to evaluate the efficiency of artificial wetlands of Shoenoplectus californicus (cattail) and Nasturtion officinale (watercress) on the pollutants of effluents from the pig farm in Huancavelica. To determine the efficiency of the amount of organic matter removed by the constructed wetlands, the chemical oxygen demand (COD) and dissolved oxygen (DO) were determined, for this, the digester and the portable Hach DR900 colorimeter were used. The results obtained from the efficiency of the artificial reed wetland at entry and exit was 559.45 mg / l and 118.15 mg / l of COD, from 1.11 to 8.25 mg / l DO, from 843.19 to 534.98 mg / l of electrical conductivity, 13.49 at 13.49 ℃ of temperature, 6.74 to 7.36 of pH, and for the artificial watercress wetland it was 559.45 mg / l and 118.00 mg / l of COD, 1.11 to 3.07 mg / l DO, 843.19 to 642.48 mg / l of electrical conductivity, 13.49 to 13.32 ℃ of temperature, 6.74 to 7.29 of pH respectively. In conclusion, the efficiency of the artificial wetlands of Schoenoplectus californicus (totora) is 78.88% and Nasturtion officinale (watercress) 78.91%, in the removal of pollutants from the effluent of the pig farm in Huancavelica.
