This environmental degradation could directly affect the quality of life of residents cióse to the industry if it cannot be controlled and prevented by the company and local governments. The impact of the management of industrial liquid waste generated in an Ecuadorian dairy processing company was identified and how this affect workers and neighboring residents; besides, the visión of improvement in management could improve the relationship between the inhabitants and the company. The study describes the analysis of current regulations, the permissible limits of discharge of water waste to the sewer system and its improvement plan for wastewater. Within the management model of the analyzed company, it was possible to show that industrial waste complies with the parameters established by the Technical Standard. Environmental management is part of the environmental responsibility of a company and represents the mínimum ethical commitment to the sustainability of its productive activities. The control of water quality and its use must go beyond the "legal duty", but rather ensure that the company has a clear sustainable development and corporate social and environmental responsibility throughout the productive hydrological cycle.
