The mastery of competences in the university is essential in the future professional, not as a knowledge, but as a way of doing given that it transcends in the solution of problems, professionally, socially and personally, for which a literature review of scientific research was conducted, using the PRISMA statement methodology, in Scopus database, Web of Science, using the terms Investigative Skills and investigative AND competences, collecting 520 initial sources, then following the process of filtering, identification, eligibility and inclusion 13 articles were selected, then a new review was considered in Google Scholar including 2 articles. Results ratify the importance of developing research skills in students through actions related to the scientific method using technological tools as a resource to promote a research culture. It is concluded that the promotion of seedbeds allows in praxis the development of a holistic research culture.
