A life project is the process that shapes an individual's expectations by creating skills to achieve their goals. The objective was to analyze the influence of life projects as a strategy for improving academic performance in students. A systematic review of publications was conducted in the Scielo, Web of Science, and Scopus databases, using the Boolean operators OR and, applying the PRISMA method. The inclusion criteria were publications between 2018 and 2023, in English and/or Spanish, and open access; duplicate publications, those outside the date range, and those unrelated to the topic were excluded, with 11 articles selected for review. The usefulness of creating a life plan for students to improve academic performance is demonstrated, as long as it includes strategies that take into account the individual's internal and external factors.
