Globally, the pandemic has made humanity change its way of behaving, experiencing and thinking, so university education has faced a global and national challenge, despite the shortages and crises at the economic and health level, measures have been taken so that students are not left without education. The objective is to identify the scope of virtual education in Peruvian universities. Publications in the Redalyc database, Dialnet, Scopus, EBSCO, Pub Med, MDPI, DOAJ, Google Scholar, Web of Science, Scielo and university repositories from 2019 to 2023 were reviewed. The results show that, despite controversies due to shortcomings at the beginning, virtual education was chosen. In conclusion, both university students and teachers trained in the use of the different platforms and ICT made possible the continuity of classes.
