SALINAS, Fortunato Diestra et al. Intercultural bilingual education and linguistic attitudes in primary school students in Ancash, Peru. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2025, vol.9, n.38, pp.1686-1699. Epub 01-Abr-2025. ISSN 2616-7964. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v9i38.1009.
Linguistic interculturality is an essential manifestation in rural areas of the department of Ancash. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between linguistic attitudes towards Quechua and Spanish in students of rural bilingual educational institutions. A quantitative, applied approach was used, with a non-experimental, correlational and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 150 students selected from three population centers. Likert-type questionnaires validated by experts were applied, with a reliability of 0.85 and 0.92 (Cronbach's alpha). The results show that the use and appreciation of both languages are more frequently manifested in the communal environment (30.6% and 33.3%, respectively). Spearman's Rho test showed a high positive correlation (0.926) between intercultural bilingual education and language activities. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between both variables in the rural educational context.
