CASTAGNOLA ROSSINI, Giuliana; URBANO GUTIERREZ, Luz Patricia e PEREZ AZAHUANCHE, Manuel Angel. Artificial intelligence for developing research skills in university teachers. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2025, vol.9, n.37, pp.1009-1026. Epub 24-Fev-2025. ISSN 2616-7964. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v9i37.965.
The study analyzed the impact of the use of artificial intelligence on the development of research skills in university teachers. An applied research was conducted with a mixed approach and concurrent triangulation design, combining a quantitative quasi-experimental approach and a qualitative phenomenological approach. A survey and a semi-structured interview were used with validated and reliable instruments, applied to 62 teachers equally distributed in control and experimental groups. The pretest results (Mann-Whitney U = 446.000; p = 0.627) indicated that there were no significant differences between the groups. However, the posttest showed a significant change (p < 0.05), which evidences the positive impact of artificial intelligence on the development of research skills. It is concluded that its integration strengthens educational quality and contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 4.
