Statistical competence is understood as the ability to use statistical tools in educational research. This study aimed to determine the implication of learning styles in the development of statistical competence in Tumbes university students in 2024. A quasi-experimental design was used with a sample of 50 students to whom an objective test was applied. The results on statistical reasoning indicate that the control group did not have students at the level of autonomous mastery before the intervention, while the experimental group had only 3 students. After the intervention, the control group remained the same while the experimental group increased. up to 16 students, a significant increase at this level. In conclusion, the statistical competence of the students improved significantly more in the experimental group, which shows the effectiveness of the pedagogical strategies applied.
