BARBOZA BASTIDAS, Mayolia. Weaknesses of virtual formative evaluation in Latin America during COVID-19: a systematic analysis. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2025, vol.9, n.36, pp.561-578. Epub 21-Jan-2025. ISSN 2616-7964. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v9i36.938.
This systematic review aims to identify and analyze the main weaknesses in the application of formative assessment in virtual environments during the COVID-19 pandemic in Latin America. Through an analysis of 26 studies, several challenges have been identified, such as lack of teacher preparation, technological limitations and digital gaps. The results suggest that the absence of training in technological tools and adequate pedagogical strategies, together with insufficient infrastructure and lack of personal interaction, hindered the effective implementation of formative assessment. This study concludes that the weaknesses observed reflect structural deficiencies in the region's educational systems, underscoring the need for educational policies that promote teacher training, infrastructure improvement, and the design of adaptive strategies.
