VERA ZAMBRANO, Jorge Froilan y VILLAFUERTE ALVAREZ, Carlos Alberto. Physical activity programs for adolescents: A systematic review. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2025, vol.9, n.36, pp.467-485. Epub 21-Ene-2025. ISSN 2616-7964. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v9i36.932.
Physical activity plays a fundamental role in the health and well-being of adolescents, favoring the development of their conditional capacities, such as strength, speed, endurance and flexibility. This study aimed to analyze students' perception of the impact of physical activity programs in secondary education and their relationship with academic performance. A systematic review was carried out following PRISMA guidelines. Databases such as Scopus, Web of Science and PubMed were consulted, using the search equation: (“physical activity” OR “exercise”) AND (“conditional capacities” OR “academic performance”) AND (“adolescents” OR “secondary education”). Eighteen studies published between 2019 and 2023 were selected, prioritizing those with quantitative and qualitative methodology. The results showed that physical activity improves concentration, blood oxygenation and mood, favoring learning. It is concluded that it is necessary to design programs with parental participation and teacher training.
