FARFAN PIMENTEL, Johnny Félix e DELGADO ARENAS, Raúl. Formative assessment in the development of mathematical competencies in secondary school students. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2025, vol.9, n.36, pp.458-466. Epub 21-Jan-2025. ISSN 2616-7964. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v9i36.931.
The evaluation of learning turns out to be a complex process, being the formative evaluation at present an alternative that positively favors the development of competencies in students in a proactive, dynamic, participative and motivating way. The objective of the research was to analyze formative assessment as a means of developing mathematical competencies in secondary school students. The study was developed under the qualitative approach using a bibliographic review of sources that address the subject, of an interpretative nature; we proceeded to the collection, analysis, synthesis and processing of relevant information on formative assessment and mathematical competencies, finding definitions, concepts, scientific argumentation and experiences, analyzing at a theoretical level the formative assessment as a process of continuous improvement of learning and with an integral notion in the teaching process. It is concluded that formative assessment essentially favors the consolidation of mathematical competencies in high school students.
