FLORIMANDI TAPIA, Wilver Michain. Digital competencies and performance of teachers in a Peruvian educational institutionperuana. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2025, vol.9, n.36, pp.357-367. Epub 21-Jan-2025. ISSN 2616-7964. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v9i36.924.
Digitalization has transformed global education, highlighting the need to integrate Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in educational systems. However, the lack of adequate ICT training affects educational quality, especially in vulnerable contexts such as the province of Huaura, Peru, where technological limitations and poor teacher training are critical challenges. This study, with a quantitative approach and correlational design, analyzed the relationship between digital competencies and teacher performance in 48 secondary school teachers. A survey with Likert scales was used to assess the dimensions of information management, communication and collaboration, content creation, computer security and problem solving, as well as preparation, teaching, school administration and professional development in teacher performance. The results show significant correlations (r > 0.79, p < 0.05), evidencing that strengthening digital competencies improves teaching performance, particularly in planning and teaching.
