DIAZ MAU, Aimeé Yajaira e CHERO PISFIL, Santos Lucio. Academic stress in physiotherapy undergraduate students. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2025, vol.9, n.36, pp.211-222. Epub 21-Jan-2025. ISSN 2616-7964. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v9i36.912.
Academic stress is manifested when students perceive their educational environment as overwhelming, which can trigger systemic disorders. In this context, the study aimed to evaluate the level of academic stress among physiotherapy undergraduate students at an institution in Lima. This research was framed within a basic quantitative approach with a descriptive design. Barraza's 2007 SISCO Inventory was used, which assessed three dimensions: stressors, symptoms and coping strategies. The findings revealed that 74.5% of the students experience a moderate level of academic stress, with percentages of 63.7%, 69.1% and 81.4% in the dimensions of stressors, symptoms and coping strategies respectively. Thus, it is deduced that undergraduate physical therapy students maintain a moderate level of academic stress, highlighting the need to implement support strategies to promote optimal integral development in their professional training.
