Social-emotional skills play a crucial role in the educational development of individuals. One of the reasons is that they affect the way in which students interact with their school environment, manage academic and emotional challenges, and engage in the learning process. The objective of the study was to identify socioemotional skills in basic education students. The methodology was given through a systematic review of various sources from Google Scholar, ProQuest, EbscoHost databases published between 2021 and 2023. The search was based on the use of AND OR booleans; thus, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 12 articles were selected for analysis. As a result of the study, it is understood that socioemotional skills optimize the competencies of students, generating an educational quality that allows them to develop adequately.
