VILLAVERDE LUCANA, Danitza Susan et al. Research competencies in the use of virtual environments in students of a public university. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2024, vol.8, n.35, pp.2025-2036. Epub 21-Out-2024. ISSN 2616-7964. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v8i35.848.
In the university context, research competencies are fundamental to optimize the use of virtual environments. The objective of this study was to determine the incidence of research competencies in the use of virtual environments among students of a public university. The research approach was quantitative, with a non-experimental design, causal correlational level and hypothetical-deductive method. The population consisted of 94 students. The results revealed that research competencies include the construction of knowledge, with components such as cognitive, metacognitive, motivational and personal qualities, which have a significant impact on the adequate use of virtual environments. It was concluded that students with higher research competencies make a more efficient use of virtual environments, while those with lower competencies present a less adequate use of them.
