Managerial leadership in education is fundamental to improve educational quality and school dynamics. This study reviews how characteristics and approaches to leadership impact the educational environment. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the characteristics and approaches to managerial leadership in education and its influence on educational quality and school community cohesion. A systematic review of the literature on educational leadership theories was conducted, including transformational, distributed, ethical leadership, and instructional and inclusion-based approaches. Studies on educational innovation and family involvement were also examined. It is concluded that effective leadership, characterized by a shared vision and appropriate change management, is crucial for improving educational quality. Active community participation and the promotion of educational innovation are essential for a positive school environment.
