The objective of the study was to analyze the development of social skills in secondary school students in Latin America. A systematic review was carried out using the PRISMA statement. The sources of information were the Scopus, Scielo and Web of Science databases. The Boolean operators were AND, OR and NOT. The total number of studies found was 587 results, of which 16 articles were selected, 38% from Brazil, 13% from Colombia, 25% from Peru, 6% from Mexico, 6% from Chile and 2% from Ecuador. The results indicate that the development of social skills in secondary school students in Latin America is fundamental for their well-being, academic success and personal growth. Individual, contextual and educational factors influence the development of these skills and their promotion is crucial to prepare students for today's world.
