Collaborative work and management in virtual environments are essential allies in teaching and learning, as well as in the administrative and pedagogical work of teachers. The objective of this study was to highlight the development of teachers' collaborative work in virtual learning environments (VLE) in an educational institution in Tacna, Peru. The research was framed in a qualitative approach through a case study. The categories analyzed were collaborative teaching and the virtual learning environment. Semi-structured interviews and observation forms applied to teachers and principals were used. The information was analyzed through triangulation. The results revealed that the implementation and training of collaborative teacher work in the VLE in the institution was favorable; the organization and interactions of the group were based on teacher leadership, open and reflective dialogue, and commitment to the institution. In addition, the climate of institutional trust promoted individual and team responsibility.
