The pandemic caused by COVID-19 produced changes in people's lives. Educational institutions were forced to move from face-to-face learning to virtual learning, where the use of social networks became a communication resource between teachers and students. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze social networks in basic education prioritized for learning. The methodology used was a systematic review. Its application made possible the selection of primary articles that were identified according to the search and eligibility criteria in the Scopus, Web of Science and Scielo databases, which allowed the review of 14 articles related to social networks for educational purposes. Concluding that the use of various social networks in education offers opportunities for the development of academic and personal development of students, promoting skills, improving communication and learning processes.
