Abstract

SUYO, Ana Bertha Mendoza. The game as a resource for the development of mathematical competencies. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2024, vol.8, n.32, pp.145-152.  Epub Jan 10, 2024. ISSN 2616-7964.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v8i32.711.

The objective of this article is to determine the game as a resource for the development of mathematical skills in primary education, in that sense, it should be applied in schools to improve learning. The methodology used corresponds to a quantitative approach, with a quasi-experimental design. The evaluative technique was used, with an instrument to be able to take the test, with which the students' learning level was obtained. The instrument was validated through expert judgment, demonstrating reliability. The sample was made up of 50 students out of a total of 120 of the same grade. From the result, when comparing the pre-test and post-test of the experimental group, a difference of 80% was obtained in the expected level of achievement; indicating an improvement in learning. In this way, it was concluded that the game influences the development of mathematical skills in primary school students.
