Abstract

VARGAS, Elizabeth Valencia et al. Pedagogical accompaniment of the manager, a strategy for the improvement of pedagogical practices. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2024, vol.8, n.32, pp.93-106.  Epub Jan 10, 2024. ISSN 2616-7964.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v8i32.707.

Pedagogical accompaniment is an in-service teacher training strategy based on critical reflection, whose purpose is to strengthen teachers' professional competencies and thus achieve better student learning. The objective of this study was to analyze the process of pedagogical coaching carried out by the directors of the educational institutions of the initial level. To this end, a qualitative study was carried out, with a hermeneutic phenomenological design, a semi-structured interview was applied to managers, teachers and specialists selected by convenience and the information was processed through the triangulation technique. The findings showed that the managers partially applied the pedagogical accompaniment due to their limited training to exercise the role of accompanier. The conclusion was that there is a need to implement training programs for managers with the intervention of the Ministry of Education in coordination with teacher training institutions such as universities or higher education institutes.
