Abstract

ARANDA, Monica Romero  and  ALVAREZ, Carlos Alberto Villafuerte. Formative evaluation: Bibliographic review. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2023, vol.7, n.31, pp.2685-2698.  Epub Oct 16, 2023. ISSN 2616-7964.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v7i31.694.

Formative evaluation is recognized as relevant to improve the educational process, where teachers and students use this process and provide information to make improvements in both teaching and learning. The main objective of the research is to analyze the importance of formative assessment in education and how it develops in the students' development. A literature review study was conducted based on references from Scopus, Scielo, Dialnet, with information from 2018 to 2022 in the framework of the characteristics of formative assessment associated with learning in basic education, preschool education, higher education and teacher pedagogy. It is concluded that formative assessment is no longer only in the traditional way which is evaluated by grade, now it evaluates processes where it provides greater scope in reference to the capabilities, skills and aptitudes being important indicators at different educational levels.
