Abstract

Teacher education and training varies, which directly impacts the quality of teaching. The lack of effective professional development programs and the lack of incentives to attract and retain trained educators are persistent problems. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of public policies and public values on educational competencies in flagship schools. The research was a basic, non-experimental, cross-sectional study. The population consisted of 106 teachers from flagship schools in Peru. The sample was a census sample. The technique used was the survey, 3 instruments were used. The results show that the variables public policies and public value have a high influence on educational competencies in flagship schools, since the Wald values of the variables public policies and public value are 13.461 and 8.191, which are higher than the cut-off point of the analysis model. It is concluded that the variables have a medium impact on the knowledge and skills dimension of the flagship schools.
