Academic performance is a constant concern, both for teachers and students, because it is the result of the teachings given in class; for this reason, the different learning styles developed by students have recently been considered of utmost importance. The objective was to establish the relationship between learning styles and academic performance in nursing students. The methodology was descriptive, correlational and non-experimental research. The instrument was a questionnaire of learning styles by Alonso et al. (CHAEA) and the promotional minutes for academic performance. As results showed a strong positive correlation with a p=0.856 between academic achievement and learning styles. It was concluded that academic performance has a direct relationship with the reflective and theoretical style; and, it presents a moderate direct relationship with the active style and pragmatic style.
