There is a concern in the educational sector to know if the implementation of the formative evaluation proposal in the different activities with the students is being adequately worked on. The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between collaborative learning methodologies and formative evaluation. The study was built under a narrative review, carrying out 4 phases, one related to the search and selection of existing theories, the second to the classification of sources and construction of categories, the third to the process of systematization of the sources, and the fourth to the analysis and interpretation of the sources. Boolean operators and selection criteria were used. In conclusion, it was determined that almost all the theoretical aspects of collaborative learning are aligned with the principles of formative assessment.
