One of the purposes of the Technical Productive Education modality is to strengthen labor competencies, which requires autonomous learning to appropriate knowledge and apply it independently, minimizing desertion and low interest in this type of study; this becomes a pedagogical challenge for the teacher. The objective of this study was to analyze the influence of the program aprendo emprendo para la vida to develop autonomous learning in technical education students. The design was quasi-experimental with pre- and post-test. We worked with a sample of 28 students, 13 students in the control group and 15 in the experimental group. A Likert-type questionnaire was applied with three dimensions: planning, execution and self-reflection. The results reveal that after the application of the program, improvements in learning autonomy and its components are evidenced. In conclusion, the program was effective, there is a higher level of autonomy in the learning of hairdressing students.
