Abstract

AROSQUIPA, Walter Nuñonca et al. Disaster risk management in the environmental awareness of teachers in an educational institution. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2023, vol.7, n.30, pp.1752-1760.  Epub July 24, 2023. ISSN 2616-7964.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v7i30.625.

Effective risk management is crucial to reduce the negative impact of disasters, and environmental awareness is essential to foster a culture of prevention. Thus, the present study focused on evaluating the relationship between disaster risk management and environmental awareness in an educational institution in Barranco. The design was a non-experimental correlational analysis. A sample of 82 teachers was evaluated, obtaining as a result that there is a positive relationship of 34.3% between disaster risk management and environmental awareness. This relationship was statistically significant and was demonstrated with a p-value of less than 0.05. The results of this study are relevant for the design of effective risk management strategies and for promoting environmental awareness in the educational community. It is suggested that future research could evaluate the relationship between risk management and environmental awareness.
