Education is in a stage of great challenges, one of them is teacher training, in this sense, it is of utmost importance to strengthen their pedagogical practice because it will directly affect student learning. In relation to this problem, the objective was to analyze the importance of pedagogical accompaniment and teacher performance in public basic education institutions. The methodology used was the bibliographic review under the qualitative approach, several referential sources were analyzed such as articles in academic journals, books, theses, among others, the categories analyzed were pedagogical support and teacher performance. In this sense, pedagogical support is a strategy that is developed in the educational institution to evaluate the teacher's performance in order to strengthen their training and management needs.
