Abstract

The introduction of virtual platforms in education has generated great impacts on the professional development of teachers, since they have seen the need to acquire new methodologies and teaching and learning strategies adapted to the digital resources of virtual platforms. The objective was to determine the influence of virtual educational platforms on professional development in educational institutions in a district of Lima-Peru. The basic, quantitative, correlational study, non-experimental design - transactional. The sample was census, made up of 91 teachers. According to the results, the variables have a positive and significant correlation (Spearman's Rho = 0.667, p= .0000< .005). Likewise, there is a positive and significant relationship between the technological and educational dimensions, with professional development (Spearman's Rho = 0.648 and 0.638 respectively), concluding that virtual platforms have an impact on the updating and continuous training of teachers.
