Abstract

ATALAYA PISCO, César Augusto. Digital and teaching competence in the research training of the telecommunications engineering career. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2022, vol.6, n.25, pp.1454-1469.  Epub Sep 14, 2022. ISSN 2616-7964.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v6i25.426.

Observing the current changes in teaching methodologies and the virtualization of education, the present study aimed to establish the incidence of digital competence and teaching competence in research training in telecommunications engineering at a public university. This research has a quantitative approach, cross-sectional, causal correlational and non-experimental design. The sample consisted of 234 students, which was drawn from a population of 500 students. The technique used for the data collection process was the survey, supported by 3 Likert ordinal scale instruments for the variables under study, which in turn were subjected to the respective reliability analysis by Cronbach's Alpha and validated by expert judgment. Finally, the results obtained through the ordinal logistic regression model showed Nagelkerke values of 0.368, Wald values higher than 12.737 and a p-value of 0.000, which allowed us to accept that digital and teaching competence have a significant impact on research training in telecommunications engineering at a public university.
