The formation of scientific competences allows to express societal conflicts that involve the finding of new knowledge, evidencing the need to instruct the human being starting from a scientific and humanistic approach. Under this premise, a systematic review of the lack of scientific competences in students by Latin American universities, school period 2020 - 2021. 2021. The methodology used was descriptive - explanatory, qualitative approach; which consisted of a systematization of a database consulted such as Scopus, Scielo, Dialnet, Journal, Delectus; Extracting contributions from 2018 to 2021, including 50 review articles and only 12 selected evidence. Concluding that universities lack investigative training processes; However, there is a concern to manage and give importance to scientific competences in students, create a research culture in teaching and learning and encourage the construction of new knowledge from social analysis from the social analysis.
