Collaborative work efficiency is important to ensures the use of resources used in the achievement of goals for academic institutions and companies whether in face-to-face or virtual interactions. In this paper an experimental analysis was performed to compare the efficiency in collaborative work under two tasks carried out face-to-face and virtually, with open and close criteria. 40 students from the University of Sonora between 17 to 31 years old participated in this study. Participants were unknown to each other. Results show that there are few statistically significant differences between type of task interventions and execution time, but they are not related with effective performance in the different experimental groups. However, evidence showed a greater effective performance in a close criteria task within the group with the highest virtual interaction and a greater efficiency in an open criteria task within the group with the highest interaction face-to-face.
