The communicational talent in the integral formation of technical professionals contributes to the development of organizational activities and society. In this sense, Higher Education Institutions value the learning of oral and written communication, fostering expressive and communicative skills for interaction and decision making. The article presents a research that investigated communication in the integral formation of the technical professional, using quantitative methodology that measured the students’ perception. The results showed that 100% of the students surveyed considered communication to be important; 55% considered communication, expression and language to be important; 60% considered expressive ability and 54% considered written communication to be important. That is to say, the discussion hierarchizes the communicative competences “soft skills” associating emotional intelligence and its relationship with society and the profession. Finally, the conclusions highlight the communicative competence in integral education, personal growth and achievement of productive goals.
