In 2021 in Peru, virtual education continues to be used, which was implemented a year earlier due to the mandatory confinement, which generated the COVID-19 pandemic, this context required adapting to the new normal and finding creative solutions; An alternative could be in educational institutions to use design thinking, a methodology centered on the person that through innovation seeks creative solutions, the formulated objective was to demonstrate the incidence of design thinking in generic competences during virtual education, in the methodology, the quantitative approach with descriptive applicative design was used, the study was applied to a population of 90 high school students, the statistical processing of the results allowed to conclude that there was an incidence between design thinking in generic competences during virtual education
