The present research aimed to determine the characteristics of digital literacy from the perspective of the public school director. A bibliographic study was carried out obtaining information from Scopus, Ebsco, Scielo, Dialnet and Google Scholar. The results show the importance of having competences about digital literacy, it also shows the resistance that some students present in the use of digital tools, in the same way it happens with traditional teachers. In such a way that it is concluded that digital literacy brings with it important advantages to people who achieve this ability, an aspect that will contribute to having access to enormous information in cyberspace and to participate in decisions with their contributions in the plans of the State institutions.
