Currently, augmented reality (AR) has gained more relevance and has produced significant changes in education, because it provides a different form of meaningful learning. These 3D didactic model application possibilities in AR collaborative learning environments are endless and continue to evolve. These technology tools provide design learning experiences at a highly skilled immersion level. Therefore, this article aimed to review articles published on the application of the 3D didactic model of collaborative learning environments in AR, a systematic mapping approach of the scientific literature was carried out by extracting information with keywords from articles indexed in specialized digital libraries, a total of 567 articles were analyzed, of which 21 articles were selected for the development of this research. In this review, data were observed that indicate the existence of potential advantages of augmented reality experiences, motivating students to carry out new experiences. In conclusion, the AR tool provides both cognitive benefits and also significantly improves creativity in design studies and in the development of spatial perception skills.
