Abstract

The present research aims to demonstrate the effect of the application of the program "I play and learn" in the development of basic mathematical notions in 5-year-old children of the Initial Educational Institution No. 112 Callao. The study is hypothetical deductive method, applied type, experimental design and quantitative approach. The sample was divided into two groups, one control and the other experimental, the latter was applied in the program "I play and learn", the data obtained were processed with the SPSS version 22 software, then the normality test was determined with the Kolmogorov - Smirnov test for inferential statistics and the Mann-Whitney U statistic was used, which demonstrated the effectiveness of the “I play and learn” program in the development of basic mathematical notions (Z = - 2.041 and p = 0.041 <0.05 , as well as its positive and significant influence on the dimensions of quantifiers (Z = -2.205 p = 0.027 <0.05) and classification (Z = -2.272 and p = 0.023 <0.05) except in that of seriation (Z = - 0.366 and p = 0.715> 0.05).
