Abstract

The objective of the study was to demonstrate the significant improvement in the production of explanatory texts after the application of the textualization strategy in students of a secondary school located in Lima. It has a quantitative approach of an applied type with a quasi-experimental design. The population consisted of 309 students, the sample was non-probabilistic and consisted of 52 students. The technique used was observation and the instruments used were a rubric for measuring the production of expository texts and the writing test instrument. Validity was given by expert judgment and reliability was verified using Cronbach's alpha statistic applied to a pilot sample of 30 students. According to the results obtained, it is concluded that the production of expository texts improves significantly when applying the textualization strategy in secondary students of a public school in Lima, since the results of the U-Mann-Whitney statistic: 5,546 and p = 0,000.
