[online]. 2021, vol.5, n.21, pp.207-215. ISSN 2616-7964. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v5i21.297.
Mindfulness is the common denominator found in the meditation currents derived from the Buddhist tradition. The development of this technique is based on decreasing the automatic mental processes, thus highlighting the details of the person's environment through cognitive strategies that allow the understanding of the surrounding environment. The general objective is to analyze the application of Mindfulness to improve teaching-learning strategies in higher education. The methodology applied has a documentary type bibliographic design. As a conclusion, it was obtained that the processes that develop mindfulness allow generating a more cordial environment within the classroom, where the generation of knowledge is more effective and productive, providing a quality education. In the case of teachers, it eliminates the effects of burnout, stress, demotivation, which directly affect the didactic strategies implemented in the classroom; mindfulness helps to generate didactic strategies according to the needs and situations of students in order to develop professionals more in line with today's society.
