Abstract

ERAZO GUERRA, Xavier Fernando  and  ROSERO MORALES, Elena del Rocio. Vocational guidance and its influence on university dropout. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2021, vol.5, n.18, pp.591-606.  Epub June 30, 2021. ISSN 2616-7964.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v5i18.198.

The present investigation arises from the importance of an adequate vocational orientation that will facilitate in students the self-knowledge of their attitudes and aptitudes that will guide them to perform in university and work life. The object of the research will be to determine the vocational orientation and its influence on university dropout for the improvement of student retention, and to identify the causes and factors for students to abandon their studies in a university career, as external factors influence and interns in the decision to enter the university and to determine the motivation and orientation in the high school graduates to fulfill their life project. It is a theoretical review article because it synthesizes published information to propose alternative solutions with theoretical bases. The methodology to be used will be qualitative because it seeks to interpret what has been studied to apply it in a descriptive and correlational way when measuring the two variables.

Keywords : Vocational orientation; university dropout; attitude, aptitude.
