Abstract Child welfare involves some facets that are integrated to provide the infant with the tools for optimal development. The objective of the study is to describe the linguistic characteristics in boys and girls between 4 and 6 years of age to identify the predictors of optimal language development as an important component of child well-being. The sample is made up of 200 participants enrolled in educational centers. Among the main results, it was identified that the participants who have received early stimulation spaces present better levéis of maturity in language. An important predictor for communication is the maturational level of articúlate language. One of the limitations of the study was not having the same number of participants by age group, but the present study provides important guidelines to deepen on the subject and actívate lines of action in child well-being and stimulation in language at an early age.
