Abstract

Abstract The article presents the results of the research regarding academic performance, the application of didactic strategies in the Teaching - Learning Process (PEA] of Geography, with the aim of proposing a motivational strategy to raise the academic performance of students in the Geography subject at the "Ismael Montes" Higher School for Teacher Training (ESFM]. Theoretical, empirical and technical methods were applied that allowed organizing and directing the research to achieve the stated objective. We worked with 56 students of 3rd and 4th year of academic training of this specialty, the data indícate that the contents learned in the área of Geography are not oriented towards their reality that involves the student in its fullness, a situation that can occur due to lack of implementation of motivational strategies in training processes, to achieve satisfactory results in academic performance.
