Initiating changes and generating business opportunities is what characterizes the entrepreneur, becoming the fundamental element of socioeconomic processes, however, the explanation and characterization of entrepreneurship can be given from various lines of research. Hence, the objective of this article is to analyze the definitions of entrepreneurship and its relationship with innovation and knowledge. The article is characterized by being a descriptive research. This has allowed us to identify that in this field, there is no single theory or perspective that defines and explains entrepreneurship as a study phenomenon, since the approach of each author is aimed at making explicit a certain characteristic of entrepreneurship, according to the position that the author assumes; This has led to the conclusion that the most competitive countries, as well as the most developed economies, are based on innovation, entrepreneurship and knowledge, as the central axis of their production systems.
