Abstract This article aims to demonstrate the impact generated by COVID-19 on organizations in the department of Maldonado (Uruguay) and the action they take to overcome this situation. To this end, we intend to study local and global news about the measures taken by Uruguay, specialized bibliography on the impact of crises on com-panies and testimonies of cases of businessmen from various fields; to understand the reactions and ways to overcome the crisis caused by COVID19. In conclusion, the relevance of reinventing business to affect changing and uncertain environments is visualized, as well as being able to make decisions about what measures to apply to improve company performance.
