Abstract

MEJIA FLORES, Ornar Gabriel; PROANO CASTRO, Milton Felipe  and  MURILLO DELGADO, Erick Paul. Characteristics of the entrepreneurial profile of single mothers in the northwest of the city of Guayaquil. Investigación y Negocios [online]. 2020, vol.13, n.21, pp.98-111. ISSN 2521-2737.

Abstract Female entrepreneurship is now gaining more importance as it offers an overview of the incorporation of women into the business world. Based on this idea, the research is part of the study of the entrepreneurial profile of single mothers in the northwest of the city of Guayaquil. Its methodological approach is quantitative, starting from a descriptive level, whose population is the single entrepreneurial mothers, for which six categories were studied. The results show a high profile level, motivation being the main category for entrepreneurship in this group of women, a médium and low profile whose main category is perseverance. Likewise, factors that influence the entrepreneurial profile include self-confidence, creativity, risk acceptance and the ability to handle problems. For each level of the entrepreneurial profile of these women, the design of specific incentive and support strategies is necessary, since at each level the needs and requirements are different for these entrepreneurs to succeed.

Keywords : female entrepreneurship; entrepreneurial profile; motivation; self-confidence; risk acceptance.
